Small Groups

Sundays at ForestView are great... an opportunity to express our devotion to God in song and prayer, a chance to read scripture and hear the Spirit's voice, and some quiet space to remember God's mercy and grace in the celebration of communion.

But the crowd is big, we're not together long, and there is so much more to ponder. For many there is a desire to go deeper...

to think further about the narrative of Scripture for fuller understanding,

to share our stories of divine encounter - how God keeps coming to each of us,

to give and receive encouragement - nudging each other towards greater love and faithfulness

... and to experience all of it in the context of a intimate community of a few friends who will pray and care for us.

We hope you will consider becoming a part of a small group gathering this fall at ForestView. Sundays are a great start but for those who are looking for spiritual formation, these groups are essential. They will convene at various times throughout the week and in many locations throughout the Oakville-Hamilton corridor.

What to Expect:

  • weekly gathering of 8-10 people for spiritual growth and development (meet in homes)
  • discussion regarding the previous Sunday message and related biblical themes
  • questions designed for textual reflection and life application
  • a time to form new friendships and deepen existing ones
  • a chance to share life, care for each other and pray
  • opportunity to live missionally

Missional?

We are encouraging all small groups to identify and engage some form of activity that will facilitate selfless compassionate outreach. Though the possibilities for missional engagement are endless, we're encouraging all of our groups to first consider the possibility of caring for a newcomer to Canada. These families are often the most poor and neglected in our community. Paul Millar will facilitate and support these relational connections and all we need to do is provide a little time and care.

Getting Involved:

If you're interested in participating, please contact the church office for a list of available small groups, locations, dates and times.
