A creative re-imagining of Psalm 30 by Jordan Campbell

I will praise you LORD, for you have saved me,
you have not let the evil one rejoice over me!
I called out to you in my youth,
and you resurrected me!
For I was walking in darkness and you opened my eyes to the light.

Take this time to praise the LORD,
and worship his holy name!
Let us sing together and remember his Holy deeds!
We were prodigals only for a moment,
But we have inherited your Kingdom for eternity!

Because of fear I followed the ways of this world.
I traded:
humility for pride
loyalty for popularity and
justice for friends
By your favour you gave me gifts;
When you hid your face — I was overwhelmed.

But you called me and spoke your prophecy over me.
You:
raised me up by bringing me low
established faithfulness by giving your Spirit and
unleashed justice like a mighty river

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
that my voice may sing your praise and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
