When Jesus last spoke to his disciples he charged them to go and tell the Good News, making disciples locally (Jerusalem), nationally (Judea & Samaria), and globally (to the ends of the earth). This is the mission of the church, and each of us have role to play in sharing our faith in Him. It can be disconcerting, even frightening at times, to talk about Jesus in a secular and often antagonistic culture. We will talk about how we tell the story of God in our own lives as individuals as well as a community. How can I be ready to give an answer for why I believe in a way that is engaging but not off-putting? By reflecting on what Scripture has to say, and looking at very practical ways of doing it, we hope to become a church ready to share our source of hope to a world in need of healing.

I exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.

Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.” Lord, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.

To you, Lord, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy: “What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness? Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord be my help.”

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my hear may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever. – Psalm 30

OCTOBER 23, 2016 – 9AM & 11AM – Tell your story – Cyril Guerette

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. – 1 Peter 3:15

OCTOBER 30, 2016 – 9AM & 11AM – Live your story – Cyril Guerette

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. – 1 Peter 2:12
